Art and Music Opportunities
CMA’s piano/music lessons are weekly, one-hour group classes for children ages 3-10. At Children’s Music Academy we teach music to young children in a fun, positive, affirming, and creative environment—we want kids to enjoy music. Classes are designed to captivate a child’s interest and imagination through engaging, age-appropriate activities and games. In our unique group setting, children experience a supportive teacher who cares for and encourages them; while learning with peers inspires confidence and motivates greater learning.
We offer vocal and musical theater classes for homeschool students ages 6-19. All students will be taught how to read music, sing with correct vocal technique, perform with confidence and integrity, work together in an ensemble, learn self-discipline, and achieve a lifetime of musical success. Our homeschool performing arts classes meet on Fridays and are offered in the Springfield, Missouri area.

The Home School Music Program was founded to provide quality music instruction for the students of homeschooling families. Our hope and prayer is that each student will gain a lifelong appreciation for music, which can be shared with others, to the glory of God. We are a Christian organization and seek to honor God in all that we do. The program is operated by Play His Praises Home School Orchestra, LLC, a limited liability company registered with the Missouri Secretary of State.
Students are given the opportunity to learn to play an instrument or join a choir for the purpose of honoring God. We accept students of all skill levels. There are at least 4 required performances per year, and advanced classes may have additional required performances.
All classes meet on Friday at Asbury United Methodist Church in Springfield with 6 Orchestras, 5 Bands, 4 choirs, 4 Guitar classes, 2 Praise and Worship classes, Harp ensemble, Percussion ensemble, and a beginning recorder class. Classes include one hour of ensemble instruction and one hour of theory. Play and Sing His Praises Music program is open to any child that is Home Schooled 100-percent of the time with a parent as their teacher.
